The Installation Ceremony of the new principal of Holy Cross College was held on the 15th of October.   Rev. Sr. Mary Nuwanthi A.C. was appointed as the new principal during this solemn and graceful installation ceremony. 

 

The ceremony was graced by the presence of the General Manager of Catholic Private Schools, Rev. Fr. Gamunu Dias, and the Provincial Superior of Apostolic Carmel Congregation, Rev. Sr. Nilanthi. The event marked the symbolic handover of leadership and administration responsibilities from the outgoing Principal, Rev. Sr. Darshika to Sr Nuwanthi.

 

The new Principal, Sr. Nuwanthi delivered her maiden speech as the principal, embracing the start of her new journey and pledging to guide the school towards both academic and spiritual excellence. In her heartfelt address, the outgoing principal, Sr. Dharshika reflected on her years of service and thanked the school community for their unwavering support.

 

A touching speech by Ms. Pushpa Perera highlighted the importance of leadership and unity within the school while welcoming the new principal and expressing gratitude to sr. Dharshika for her remarkable service rendered for 8 years as the principal . 

 

The Head Prefect, Thamasha Fernandopulle, the 1st Deputy Head Prefect, Senandhi Liyanage, and the Junior Head Prefect Cattleya Perera, expressed their gratitude and admiration to Sr. Darshika’s legacy on behalf of all the students of the college. 

 

The event was enriched with unique rituals of school culture under the guidance of the sisters of Apostolic Carmel Congregation.
