97 Years of Glorious  Legacy

The 97th College Day for the academic year 2025 was celebrated on 12th September 2025, though it officially falls on 14th September 2025. The event was celebrated with great pride by the Crusaders. This day allowed the school to commemorate another year of its existence and to appreciate the students’ achievements in all curricular, co-curricular, and extracurricular activities conducted throughout the year.
 
The ceremony  began with 
the hoisting of the college flag that  was gracefully placed by Rev. Sr. Nuwanthi, the Principal, Rev. Sr.Nimalka the Senior Deputy Principal and Rev.Sr.Subasiri the Deputy Principal 
 
The most significant moment  of the programme  was  to release 97 balloons into the sky organized  by the prefects.and also, A beautiful cake was cut to symbolize the 97 th glorious  victory, adding even more colour to the celebration. The cutting of the Silver Jubilee cake of our dear Rev. Father Samantha and Rev. Father Subash also took place, showering our deepest love and respect for our chief guests and our Alma Mater.
 
Felicitation of Thenumi Ranasinghe for obtaining 3As' in the Arts Stream—ranking 4th in the Island and 2nd in the District in A/L  Examination -2024. Nevertheless, honoring the 30 students who achieved 9As' in O/L Examination-2024, brought courage, inspiration, and pride to all Crusadians. It also lit up the name ‘Holy Cross’ in everyone’s hearts. The distribution of prizes for the College Day Quiz Competition reflected the love and gratitude of HCC students towards their college.
The Past Teachers’ Association handed over a souvenir to the Rev. Sisters, making the 97th College Day even more remarkable and memorable.
 
We, the Crusadians, extend our sincere thanks to Rev. Sister Nuwanthi, the Principal; Rev. Sister Nimalka, the Senior Deputy Principal; Rev. Sister Subasiri, the Deputy Principal; our dear teachers; members of the Past Teachers’ Association; members of the O.G.A, prefects, all the students, non-academic and minor staff for their immense dedication that made the 97th Anniversary celebration so historic and memorable.
 
We wish our Alma Mater many more years of success, adventure, innovation, and prosperity.
