The Investiture Ceremony of the senior prefects of Holy Cross College was held on 12th March 2025 at the College Auditorium with great solemnity and tradition. The event commenced at 7:30 a.m. in the presence of Rev.Fr.Subash Fernando ,the Chaplain of Liseux Convent, Rev.Sr.Nuwanthi, the Principal, Rev.Sr.Subasiri, the Deputy Principal and the sister in charge of senior prefects, members of the staff, parents of the newly elected senior prefects, and students of our college. The ceremony began with prayers, followed by the lighting of the oil lamp, signifying wisdom and guidance. The formal installation of badges was carried out by the principal, marking the official appointment of the new prefects. A significant moment of the ceremony was the symbolic handing over of candles from the outgoing prefects to the newly elected prefects, representing the transfer of responsibility and leadership. With candles in hand, the new board of prefects took their oath, pledging to serve the school with dedication and integrity. Another highlight was the handing over of the College Flag, where the outgoing Head Prefect, Thamasha Fernandopulle entrusted it to the principal, who then presented it to the newly elected Head Prefect, Dinelsha Silva, signifying the continuation of leadership. Following this, the newly appointed prefects paid their respects to their parents in a heartfelt gesture of gratitude. The event continued with inspiring speeches by the principal, the outgoing head prefect, and the newly elected head prefect, each sharing words of encouragement and motivation. The ceremony concluded with the College Anthem, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the Senior Prefects of 2025. Congratulations to the newly appointed Senior Prefects!
