The Sinhala and Tamil New Year Celebration of Grade 1 & 2 was held last Friday at the primary school. Rev Fr. Subash Fernando, the Chaplin of the school , Rev. Sr. Subasiri, the deputy principal and Rev. Sr Ranmali,the primary principal were invited to make the event colourful. The students and the teachers dressed up as Sinhalese & Tamils inorder to represent both cultures. The students were taught about the New Year, customs, and observations. A New Year table was arranged with various types of new year sweetmeats for the guests. After explaining the customs, the students were given the chance to take part in new year games. Ms. Himaya Nissanka, compared the wonderful programme. The class teachers of grade 1 & 2 section and subject teachers took an immense effort to make this day memorable to our little Crossians.
