"The 2025 annual Girl Guide camp, a special opportunity for the Girl Guides of Holy Cross College, took place over three nights and four days, from February 27th to March 2nd. The camp's theme was 'Unity in Diversity.' To reflect this theme, the Girl Guides were divided into four patrols: Sinhala, Tamil, Muslim, and Burgher. These patrols were then organized into two sub-camps, Sub-camp A and Sub-camp B. The camp began on February 27th with an opening ceremony, where each patrol gave a brief introduction. Sixty-eight Girl Guides from Holy Cross College—33 in Sub-camp A and 35 in Sub-camp B—enjoyed this valuable experience. They were guided by dedicated Girl Guide leaders: Mrs. Nilmini Wickramanayake, Mrs. Roshini Silva, Mrs. Chathuranadee Gankewala, Mrs. Thamara Gunarathna, Mrs. Senani Peris, Ms. Shalomi Selah, Ms. Tharindi Silva, Ms.Pramoda Fernando and Mrs. Lakmini Jayasinghe. On February 28th, the second day of the camp, the Girl Guides participated in a hiking & cooking activity on private land in Malwana. The final night of the camp was celebrated with a campfire. In keeping with the 'Unity in Diversity' theme, the Girl Guides showcased their talents with wonderful performances, adding colour to the night.
